Martin Stoll came from an old German family of office furniture manufacturers, founded in 1871 by his grandfather Albert Stoll. After leaving school, he joined his parents' company and continued to run it together with his brothers Albert and Christof Stoll in the south of Germany.

He managed the company until 1999, including the brand’s integration into Sweden’s Kinnarps Group.
